Milo
A Poem for Marj's Greyhound
by Ruthie Levy
Your angel's flight
With foot so light
Through skies and valleys golden blue.
No more you race
On worlds of greed
Born from a world so cruel.
Before you lived on captured soil
A Greyhound dog who lived to toil
Obeying words of empty greed
I rescued you, your soul I freed.
And as the morning star shines bright
O'er sandy shores and silvery light
Your silhouette against the sky
Your long strong legs, I see them fly.
No more exploited just for dough
I rescued you, my sweet Milo.
You rescued me, my sweet Milo.
